Our Values

We believe that our responsibility goes above and beyond the supply of awesome greeting cards! We care about the impact we have on both our natural and social environment. It is our mission to continuously improve our procedures, our policies, and our procurement activity to best reduce our environmental footprint and to promote a healthy social workplace.

Health and Safety

We have included health and safety as an integral part of our management practice in all departments of our business. Our Health & Safety Policy is not only designed for our members of staff, but also for those to whom we owe a ‘duty of care’.. We are committed to protecting the well-being of our employees. We hold employee liability insurance, not only to comply with current legislation, but also to make sure our employees are safeguarded in the event of any incident.

We are in the process of implementing ISO: 9001 & ISO: 14001 as an integrated management system and hope to gain accreditation to these standards in 2019. It is our policy to continually improve our processes to promote the supply of greeting cards that exceed customer satisfaction for quality.

The Workplace

We want to be a company people want to work for! We have worked hard in creating an original, design-led head office for our staff to work in and be inspired by. We have created a bespoke hub for our distribution and warehousing operations which promotes efficiency and accuracy. Our commitment to providing a happy work place for our staff is evident in our incredibly high staff retention rate, which we are very proud of.

Ethical Operations

We want all our employees to be able to give their best and be successful. All our employees and job applicants are treated and selected fairly based on their relevant aptitudes, abilities, and skills, and will not be treated less favourably on the grounds of race, colour, religion/ belief, nationality, ethnic origin, gender, gender reassignment, age, marital status, sexual orientation or disability.

We have recently signed up to be a SEDEX member to enable us to connect directly with our customer base and to share important information about the operations of our business. We have recently submitted a self-audit and intend to be audited by an external body by the end of 2019.

The Environment

We strive to maintain an environmentally responsible business, which continues to improve as we change and grow. We pride ourselves on our resourceful and proactive management policies that are designed to minimise the company’s environmental impact.

Recently we have:

  • Invested in paper and plastic bailing machinery to increase the amount of waste we recycle in-house.
  • Invested in LED lighting for our distribution and warehousing facilities to decrease our energy usage.
  • Implemented an internal Waste Management Protocol to separate recyclable waste for recycling collection.

We are implementing the ISO: 14001 standards for environmental management, which we hope to have in place by the end of 2019. We look forward to sharing further environment initiatives with our customers in 2019!

Paper Sourcing Policy

We recognise that business leadership carries a responsibility to the environment and the world’s forests. We are committed and fully support responsible forest management practices that protect both biodiversity and ecosystem integrity and result in long-term social and economic benefits to human communities.

Therefore, it is our policy, wherever possible, to purchase paper and board products produced from forests independently certified as well-managed, with the objective of having as much of our paper and board products FSC® certified as possible, given current market conditions. We are in the process of gaining an FSC chain of custody accreditation, supporting the FSC initiative, giving our customers re-assurance of our dedication to the scheme.

Plastic Sourcing Policy

We are working on ways to heighten awareness amongst our consumers that all the plastic film used in the packaging of our products is fully recyclable through household recycling collections. We urge local councils and the government to ensure that relevant resources are available to recycle plastic materials with neutral environmental impact.

The sparkle effect that you see on some of our cards is achieved by using a micro plastic glitter. Micro plastics, predominantly used in cosmetics products, have entered our oceans. We are urgently endeavouring to source fully biodegradable alternatives to ensure that none of the materials we use have a negative impact on our natural environment.
